Step 1-Flush

Flush. Flush. Flush.

The first step to any life style changing program is to flush out the old to allow the new to enter.

Flushing includes detoxing, fasting, prayer or/and meditation.

  • DETOX
  • Water is the top of any cleansing list! (Obvious; isn’t it)

Drink plenty of water. Before and After each meal. Water should be the first thing that you drink in the morning and the last thing at night.

The problem I think that many people have is their lack of water.

“Water makes up more than two thirds of the weight of the human body, and without it, we would die in a few days. The human brain is made up of 95% water, blood is 82% and lungs 90%. A mere 2% drop in our body’s water supply can trigger signs of dehydration: fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on smaller print, such as a computer screen. (Are you having trouble reading this? Drink up!) Mild dehydration is also one of the most common causes of daytime fatigue. An estimated seventy-five percent of Americans have mild, chronic dehydration.” lifescript.com

Water is essential to having and maintaining a healthy life-style. Anything that our body consumes should be able to be broken down. If their is not enough hydration to do that, we become impacted or clogged. Clogged arteries, constipation, unnecessary fatty deposits (cellulite), mental blocks, etc.

Whatever you eat or take in- Drink plenty of water! FLUSH!!

  • FASTING
    1. Food Fast

I am a strong believer of fasting. I fast once a week faithfully. Fasting give your body a chance to relax, check, and restart. Think of it like a car. If you run your car continuously..no breaks, no stops, it eventually will give up on you. It will run out of gas, heat up, or stop all together. Our bodies are quite similar. If we are constantly taking in..not putting out, or what I call “giving back”. I give back to the earth, universe, what ever you want to call it. I give back everything that I have consumed.

During my fasts, I normally just drink water. However, depending on the nature of my health, I may include green juices, herbs, tea or organic black coffee..if there is something really major I need to get over.

There are many types of fasts. For beginners, the best way to start with fasting is to gradually decrease certain foods from your diet.

The first day, don’t consume any sugar. Sugar has a very negative effect on the body and brain. It has addictive properties which is why it’s so hard to tackle. If you can take away the cola’s, candy, juice drinks, ho-ho’s, commercial coffee drinks, or whatever unnatural sweet you eat, for just one day. I guarantee the next day, you will feel a difference.

Other ways to fast are: No fried foods for a day. If you must eat fried foods aim for once a week. Then, substitute your cooking oil for canola instead of vegetable oil, NO Lard.

Try using olive oil in place of butter. I love to season my olive oil. I add crushed basil, black pepper, and garlic powder. I use it on popcorn, toast, steamed veggies, or anything that I would normally use butter on.

For a fast that will jump start your “transformation program” try going a day without breads or carbohydrates. Definitely no bleached flour breads. “Bleached enriched flour, is exactly what it says it is..Bleached. It is grain, that is bleached and cleaned with chemicals to make it white and soft. Only whole wheat, whole grains!

Next, Salt. “We all know that excess salt is not good for our health. But did you know that the effects of a high salt diet could contribute to Alzheimer’s disease, asthma, stomach cancer, hypertension, and kidney stones? High salt intake is also speculated to affect intelligence and memory!” Healthy Revelations.com

Limit you dairy consumption. Dairy, (cheeses and milk) clogs your cells and makes you sluggish. A simple rule..notice how food looks before it enters your mouth, if it’s sticky, can’t break down easily, thick, or you can’t leave it out too long, because it will go bad..that’s what it does inside your body. Dairy is like glue, high in fat, pasteurized (needed calcium is wiped from it), and low in iron (despite what you heard). Oew..I can say so much.. but I’ll hold out till later.

Alright, lastly for the meat eaters. Even though I’m vegan, I’m not knocking you. Just understand that it takes the body much longer to digest meats than it does for fruits and vegetables. Therefore, if you are eating meat you need to work twice as hard in flushing it out of your system.
Try limiting your amount of meat to 2 meals with 1 portion of meat a day. Then down to 1 meal with 1 portion, and slowly decrease the days if possible. The goal would be half of the meat that you eat now. Well, I would love to go into my “WHY YOU SHOULDN’T EAT MEAT” rant, but I’ll be zen about it, for now.

Be creative and think of other foods that you could eat. You would be surprised with the array of healthy choices that are available. Step outside of your normal routine, and do some wise, nutritional searching. It’s really not hard.

  • Mental Fast
  • A Mental Fast is fasting against all negative influences.
Negative influences could be things we do to ourselves, such as stressing out. Not controlling our tempers. Raising our voices and blood pressure. Sometimes we cause ourselves undue stress. We rush and bustle around, yell, scream, throw tantrums when we can’t get what we want, and point blame. These things we have control over. We don’t have to yell and curse the driver that cut us off in traffic. We don’t have to argue with our children about the dishes and their rooms not being clean. We don’t have to debate with out spouses about who was supposed to prepare dinner.
Fast against causing ourselves mental burdens.

Mentally fasting also involves avoiding daily unconscious messages, that enter into our minds. It involves boycotting violent images seen on television, the computer or magazines. It means to fast against negative lyrics in songs. Anything that may be subjective, abusive, or derogatory. Our minds need to rest too. So many things that we are aware of and are unaware of our entering our minds every second. At times, it is necessary to be alert and in control of what controls us.

The best thing about “Soul Tapping” is allowing it to take place.

During your fast it is imperative to eat. But, not physically. Feed on all the beauty that makes you “YOU”. Allow spirit to cleanse you inside and out. While you are flushing out the bad, allow all that is good to enter. Pray, meditate, and commune. Read inspirational books. Take nature walks. Express generosity. Be kind and humble yourself to what’s bigger than you.
(TIP-whisper or softly speak..it helps to keep you focused on being calm)

It doesn’t have to be hard. It’s very basic. Take it step by step. Each time you fast make a slight change. You will notice improvements..I promise.
